Olympic Styles • Advanced Training


Eligibility

 

  • Open to ages 8U through USA Junior
    • 8U = athlete must turn 8 during the calendar year
    • USA Junior = athlete must be in high school
  • Must have at least one full season of Folkstyle or prior Freestyle/Greco experience


Purpose of Freestyle/Greco

 

  • Learn Olympic‑style wrestling
  • Improve upper‑body control & dynamic scoring
  • Develop scrambling, transitions, and explosive attacks
  • Increase wrestling IQ and creativity
  • Build skills that transfer directly back into Folkstyle success


What We Teach

 

  • Freestyle fundamentals
  • Greco fundamentals (age‑appropriate)
  • Upper‑body ties, throws, and lifts (safe progressions)
  • Par terre offense & defense
  • Exposure scoring, re‑attacks, and scrambling
  • Transition chains and pressure management


How We Coach

 

  • Strict safety protocols
  • Detailed demonstration and progressional learning
  • High‑rep technique drilling
  • Controlled live wrestling
  • Emphasis on discipline, respect, and leadership


Practice Length

 

  • All ages: 90 minutes
